The Draw
The World Equestrian Center
Ocala got a lot of national attention when the World Equestrian Center opened on the west side of town. It’s the largest equestrian complex in the country, and it runs year‑round — hunter/jumper, dressage, driving, and a calendar that keeps hotels and restaurants busy in months that used to be quiet.
You don’t have to own a horse for it to matter to you. It brought restaurants, a hotel, a grand plaza and a steady stream of visitors to a side of Ocala that was mostly pasture ten years ago — and it pulled new rooftops, retail and road work along with it.
Several of the communities I sell sit within a straightforward drive of the grounds. If that’s the reason you’re looking at Ocala, tell me and I’ll point you at the ones that make the most sense.
